Description
Very mysterious mug of the late 40s - 50s. There are many varieties, but they are all united by a form, a clean bottom without inscriptions, a polished bottom. They differ in details - the writing of the volume, the shape of the handle, the geometrical dimensions, can be with or without a heraldic field.
Judging by the quality of glass and casting, they were purchased abroad due to the fact that our factories were destroyed during the war. And verified and branded in different cities. After all, neither in Arkhangelsk, nor in Kirov, nor in Makhachkala there were no glassworks. Arkhangelsk, Donetsk, Leningrad, Makhachkala, Kirov - this is probably not a complete list of places of branding. Some remained unbranded, they did not always reach out.
Cyrillic nominal designation may indicate that the mugs were not just bought abroad, but ordered there. And for the Baltic States could order with the inscription in Latin, and for all others - in Cyrillic. Maybe a part was purchased, part was produced at Soviet factories using trophy forms. But this is only an assumption. All these types of mugs can be called the type "Stalin's Empire."
