  • The mug was made at the Gusev Crystal Plant presumably between 1925 and 1934. There is no hallmark; there is no filling level line. The inscription on the bottom - ''с/з им БУХАРИНА 0,5 л.'' in two lines. It is read from above. The pattern on the mug is difficult to describe - 15 straight convex facets of different thicknesses. 9 facets 25.4 mm - 1 inch and 6 facets 19 mm., ¾ inches. Moreover, the narrow facet ends 1/5 of the rim and continues with two triangular ribs to the bottom of the mug. The color of the mug is marine green. Very high quality casting, excellent glass surface.

Description

Thoroughbred mug. These are worthy product of the Gusev plant. The manufacturing time seems to me 1929 - 1931. The following attributes indicate this:

  • 1. 1924-1937 the company is called "Bukharin Glassworks"; then - Gusev Crystal Plant.
  • 2. The designation of the volume is only on the bottom, which is typical until 1931.
  • 3. The lack of stigma, is typical until 1935.
  • 4. The lack of features of loading, is typical until 1931.
  • 5. Present the name of the plant, is typical after 1929.

In photo No. 6, this mug is presented in comparison with the mug produced in the Gus Khrustalny city at the Experimental glass plant in the 90s. There is something common in that two mugs is not found on any other mugs. Crystal manufacture was founded in 1756 by the Oryol merchant Akim Maltzov. In 1918, the Maltsev enterprises, including the Gusev crystal plant, were nationalized. From 1918 to 1924, the glass factory actually did not function. 1924-1937 the company is called "Bukharin Glassworks"; then - Gusevsky Crystal Plant.
