  • The mug was made at the ''Vosstanie'' glass factory in 1948. The pattern on the side surface is 2 rows of ovals of 12 in each row. Linking to the bottom - 12 trapezoid. The mug is cast from 3 parts along the body.
On the bottom you can see the marking of the manufacturer - ЗАВОД ‘’ВОССТАНМЕ’’ in a circle and in the middle the designation of the volume of 0.25 liters., Made by casting. (Which is typical for mugs of the 20s and early 30s). The main designation of the volume of 0.25 liters cast on the rim of the mug (as on all mugs intended for catering outlets).
The metrological check mark is etched through a stencil on the rim. Designation of the verification institution No. 2 (Leningrad 1931 - 1952). The filling level line on the rim is made mechanically.
The upper diameter is 90 mm., The lower diameter is 65 mm. Height 91.5 mm., Weight 385 grams.

Description

The bottom edge is polished. The bottom is concave inside the circle by 10.5 mm. Glass tint - very high quality. Glass color - light green (bottle). On the handle on top, on both sides, there are molding grooves. The grooves were made as if for fixing the lid, which was practiced on the mugs issued in Western Europe.

A very interesting mug of the famous factory. And the “Vosstanie” factory itself never ceases to amaze. Why are we so interested in this mug?

  1. The first mug in our catalog (for 2019) made at the “Vosstanie” glassworks after the war.
  2. Mugs of this shape have been found since the beginning of the 20s. A lot of old photos and films of the 20s and 30s. Among the latter, “Seven Old Men and One Girl” (1968), “The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!” (1975). But now it’s not easy to find such a mug (made in the USSR, that is, with the designation of the manufacturer’s factory and verification stamp).
  3.  The double volume designation is on the bottom and rim. The volume at the bottom is typical for mugs of the 20s and early 30s. According to regulatory documents, from the mid-30s, the volume designation should be on the rim. And what we see here? Either the old mold was used, or the old stocks found in the warehouses and marked in new standard. Maybe once this riddle will be resolved.
  4.  There is a similar mug in the catalog, #507. But the  #506 mug is higher by more than a centimeter. A slightly different form of handle, weight. And on #507 there is no marking at all.
