  • The mug was made in 1940 at the Artyomovsky glass factory. It has 12 twisted facets, one of them is lowered. The facet shape under the rim is an arch. The mug is molded from three parts + bezel and bottom. Volume designation 0.5 liters cast on one of the side facets of the mug.
    The fill level mark is a dash on the rim of the circle, applied mechanically. The stamp of metrological verification etched on the rim of the mug. Stamp number - 25 (1940, Zhdanov / Mariupol). The inscription on the bottom of the mug: ''НКЛП УССР ЗД АРТЁМА''. Read from below.

Description

The peculiarity of this mug is 12 twisted facets, one of which does not reach the rim. To date, the year 2018, we know only two mugs with twisted facets, in which there are facets that do not reach the rim. Both were produced at Artyomovsky Glass factory, one before the war, one after. In the earlier case it is 12 faces, in the later - 15.

 

This is the mug number 326, which has 15 twisted facets, among which two facets do not reach the rim. The photo number 7 shows both mugs. You can see the differences in color, the number of facets, the shape of the handle. The facets which are not reaching a rim - the original decision of fast search of the filling line. They indicate where to find the loading line. With improved casting quality, this solution was no longer necessary. Ring ledge on the rim, and later the rim itself became the filling line.
